Score- Category- Box Art Name Initial Thoughts
7.94 Movies Inland Empire (2006) (2025/10/31): David Lynch's masterpiece. The Criterion version of this is using a terrible AI upscale, go for the older Bluray version if you can. Don't look up anything more about this film, just go watch it when you have 3 spare hours.
7.92 Music The Piper at the
Gates of Dawn (1967) -
Pink Floyd
(2025/10/30): See I like happy sounding albums too, as long as the emotions conveyed come across as genuine. One of my favorite examples of psychedelic rock. This album proves that you can be mysterious and eccentric without needing to be dark all of the time. This album works great as an album from start to finish or broken up into individual songs. Any song on this album could have been the single, except the one where they make bird noises into the microphone for the entire song. Also the stereo mix sucks make sure you are listening to the Mono version.
7.82 Movies Hausu (1977) (2025/10/30): Wouldn't even classify this as a horror movie, other than tropes it employs. I think it was trying to be genuine a psychedelic horror, but through the language barrier and all the lsd I'm can't say that for certain. But what I can say for certain is that this movie is chaotic, surreal and a lot of fun. If you aren't afraid of weird shit then it's a must see.
7.99 Movies 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) (2025/10/29): This really doesn't feel like a 60 year old movie. The visual effects in this film look better than a majority of the films shot today. The antagonist of this story is among the most mysterious in all of fiction. The score is iconic to the point of being a meme. If you haven't seen this movie I would recommend doing no further research and just watching it. Kubrick films are considered the best for a reason.
7.99 Music Geogaddi (2002) -
Boards of Canada
(2025/10/29): Go for the japanese version if you can, it has a nice bonus track. Not a dull moment or track. Dark-Psychedelic, ambient, electronic. This is an album that works best as an album, if you break it down into tracks there's only like 2 or 3 tracks that I think work as standalone piece, Sunshine Recorder, 1969, You could feel the sky and From one source all things depend could go on a shuffle playlist, but you should definitely listen to this from start to finish in 1 go for your first time.
7.95 Anime Mushoku Tensei: Isekai
Ittara Honki Dasu (2021) /
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless
Reincarnation (2021)
(2025/01/01): What a stupid fucking name for an anime, in english and in japanese. Jobless Honkey Desu. This anime will make every other isekai seem shitty in comparison. There was only a single moment of bizarre 3DCG wheat in a field but, other than that, the visuals are some of the best of this century. They take the important parts of the story seriously, without those fucking terrible marvel tier quips that every isekai has now. The tone of this one reminds me of a lot of early 2000s anime. Degenerate.
